Search, shortcuts, and preferences

Search and run commands with ⌘K, review and rebind keyboard shortcuts, find text inside an issue, and set personal preferences such as theme, language, and time zone.

Keys below are written for macOS. On Windows and Linux, ⌘ becomes Ctrl; the tables list both.

Press ⌘K, or click Search... at the top of the sidebar. With nothing typed, the search box offers New Issue and the issues you opened recently. Once you type, results are grouped:

GroupWhat it finds
PagesWorkspace pages such as Inbox, Chat, Issues, Projects, Agents, and Settings.
CommandsNew Issue, New Project, and switching to the light, dark, or system theme. On an issue page you also get Copy Issue Link, Copy Identifier, Fold All Comments, and Unfold All Comments.
MembersMatches by name or email.
WorkspacesOther workspaces you belong to; selecting one switches to it.
Projects, IssuesMatches titles as well as project descriptions, issue descriptions, and comments. The matching snippet shows under the result, and done issues are included.
CancelledCancelled projects and issues are grouped at the end instead of mixing in with the rest.

Selecting a result opens it. Hold ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows and Linux) while clicking or pressing Enter to open it in a new tab. Esc closes the search box.

Single-key shortcuts (C, E) and Go back / Go forward don't fire while you're typing in an input.

The Navigation group also has Go to Inbox, Chat, My Issues, Issues, Projects, Autopilot, Agents, Squads, Usage, Runtimes, Skills, and Settings. None of them has a key by default; bind the ones you use.

Fixed system shortcuts

These can't be changed. Except for Esc, they work only in the desktop app; in a browser, the browser handles these keys.

Change a shortcut

Open Settings → Shortcuts. Use the search box at the top to find an action by name.

Click the keys to the right of an action. When it says "Press keys", press the new combination. Esc cancels; Delete clears the action's shortcut.

The two buttons at the end of each row reset that action to its default and disable it. Restore defaults at the top undoes every customization at once.

Shortcuts are saved on the current device only. On another computer, or when you switch between the browser and the desktop app, set them again.

Recording rejects a few kinds of combinations and says why under the keys:

  • A combination already assigned to another action.
  • Combinations the browser, the desktop window, or the operating system owns, such as ⌘W, ⌘R, ⌘Q, ⌘,, editing keys like copy and paste, ⌘0–⌘9, and the zoom keys. In a browser, ⌘P, ⌘L, ⌘T, ⌘N, ⌘D, and ⌘U are off-limits too; the desktop app allows them. On Windows and Linux, any combination with the Win / Super key is rejected.
  • Actions that also work inside an input, such as Open search, Toggle chat window, and Find in issue, need ⌘, Ctrl, or Control, so they never fire while you type.
  • Send can only be ↵ or ⌘↵.

If you set Send to ↵, use Shift+Enter for a new line: it inserts a paragraph, continues a list, or adds a line break in a code block.

Find in issue

On an issue page, ⌘F opens Multica's own find bar instead of the browser's. Browser find only sees the comments currently rendered on screen; this one searches the whole timeline, including the title, the description, and every comment.

Matching ignores case. The bar shows "current/total", or "No matches". Press ↵ for the next match, Shift+Enter for the previous one, and Esc to close. Text that spans a formatting change (say, half of it bold) isn't found.

In the desktop app, only the visible tab responds to ⌘F.

Preferences

Personal preferences live under Settings → Preferences and apply immediately. Each group is stored in a different place:
